London – April 2025

In a powerful demonstration of youth-driven dialogue, the Humanitarian Dialogue Foundation (HDF) hosted a Youth & Peacebuilding Symposium in London, bringing together young leaders from across the UK and the Middle East to explore the role of storytelling, intercultural exchange, and civic responsibility in shaping peaceful societies.
The symposium provided a dynamic platform for participants aged 18–30 to share personal narratives of resilience, challenge dominant narratives of division, and propose innovative models for community reconciliation. Panel discussions, interactive workshops, and networking sessions were held over two days, focusing on various themes such as youth leadership in conflict transformation, the role of media and digital storytelling, cross-cultural collaboration and dialogue, and building sustainable peace through education.
Participants came from diverse faith, ethnic, and national backgrounds, and many were engaged in grassroots activism or civil society work. Their contributions highlighted the importance of inclusivity and the urgency of involving youth in national and international peace agendas.
A highlight of the event was the “Voices of Change” segment, where selected youth shared stories that reflected hope, courage, and the power of dialogue in the face of adversity.
The symposium reaffirmed HDF’s unwavering commitment to empowering youth as central actors in peacebuilding, not merely as future leaders but as vital voices of the present.
