Geneva – June 2025

The Humanitarian Dialogue Foundation (HDF) proudly participated in the United Nations Day of Dialogue, held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva in June 2025. The annual event convened international organizations, NGOs, and UN bodies to exchange best practices in dialogue-driven peacebuilding and inclusive governance.
Representing HDF were senior delegates from its London office, who took part in panel discussions, breakout workshops, and high-level consultations focusing on conflict prevention, youth engagement, and interreligious cooperation.
HDF contributed to a key panel titled:
“Beyond Mediation: Reimagining Dialogue in Polarized Societies,”
where speakers emphasized the need for grassroots approaches that center community voices, particularly those of women and youth. Drawing on recent field experiences from Iraq and the UK, HDF shared insights into how local dialogue circles and youth storytelling initiatives can act as powerful tools for long-term social cohesion.
UN officials and attending diplomats praised HDF’s contributions for their practical grounding and ethical clarity, noting the Foundation’s growing influence in international civil society work. Several partnerships were initiated during the forum, including potential collaborations with institutions in Switzerland, Lebanon, and West Africa.
“The UN Day of Dialogue is more than a gathering — it’s a reaffirmation that dialogue must be placed at the heart of diplomacy and development,” said HDF’s International Programs Advisor, Sarah El-Ghazaly. “We are honored to stand among peers committed to peace through conversation.”
HDF’s participation in Geneva reinforces its commitment to global engagement and the promotion of peaceful, inclusive societies. As the Foundation continues to expand its reach, it remains grounded in the belief that genuine dialogue is the first step toward lasting transformation.
